JOB SUMMARY The Senior Director, Global Consulting role leads strategic programs and projects for Marriott International that span cross-disciplines and drive enterprise KPIs. The Senior Director will both oversee a small team of internal consultants and engagements and independently drive complex programs and projects aligned to strategic priorities for the company. Success in this role requires strong critical thinking, ability to manage complex stakeholder interactions, a proven ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, as well as willingness to be tested on difficult projects and initiatives. The Senior Director serves as a coach and mentor to develop team members into high-performing internal consultants, as well as a trusted advisor and thought partner to senior leaders to deliver meaningful and impactful value to the enterprise.

  • Engage with clients and internal teams to understand their needs, provide regular updates, and ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Oversee the allocation of resources, including team members and budget, to ensure optimal utilization and project efficiency, while addressing any resource constraints or conflicts.
  • Present innovative insights and strategic recommendations to senior leaders clearly and concisely, using data-driven narratives to support decision-making and drive alignment.
  • Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Proactively identify and communicate any potential risks or issues, ensuring they are well-informed and can make timely decisions to mitigate challenges.
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Develop and make recommendations to improve the effectiveness of processes and programs.
  • Facilitate the adoption of new solutions by effectively communicating their benefits and implementation plans to all stakeholders, ensuring transparency and buy-in through regular updates and feedback sessions.
  • Develop and lead direct reports, leveraging consulting approaches, project management expertise, best practices and analytics to deliver strategic engagements on-time and on-budget.
  • When applicable, develop and execute comprehensive change management strategies that include training, support, and resources to help teams adapt to new processes and technologies, minimizing resistance and ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related major
  • Ten or more years’ experience in strategy development, brand management, marketing strategy or product management
  • Experience managing and defining transformational strategies for business units
  • MBA or equivalent
  • Experience in the lodging / hospitality sector
