About The Position

The Senior Director of Engagement will have a deep understanding of constituent engagement and philanthropy used to manage the comprehensive alumni engagement efforts on behalf of the Office of Alumni Engagement. This position is designed to be the link between the University, the Division, and the UNLV Alumni Association to our nearly 155,000-plus Alumni worldwide and over 33,000 students. The Senior Director will report directly to the Associate Vice President (AVP) for Alumni Engagement and Executive Director of the UNLV Alumni Association. In this role, the Senior Director will supervise the Director for Alumni Career Engagement, along with other staff positions as determined by departmental needs. This position will serve as the number two to the AVP for Alumni Engagement and will represent the AVP in their absence at divisional and campus events and programs, as well as community events when necessary. The Senior Director of Engagement will also support the VP of PAE and the Associate Vice President (AVP) for Alumni Engagement in university-wide and presidential goals -- including, most prominently for the coming years, the development and execution of a major fundraising campaign. In particular, this individual will strategize on and be accountable to metrics that reflect the ways in which alumni engagement feeds annual giving -- which is a crucial outcome for alumni engagement. The Sr. Director will be responsible for making data-informed recommendations to the AVP, data management, and metrics tracking in the Salesforce CRM related to the CASE Alumni Engagement Metrics, which include Volunteer, Communications, Experiential, and Philanthropic. These metrics are the foundation of the Office of Alumni Engagement's strategic plan. The position will develop, manage, and execute programs and events to facilitate lifelong dialogue between the University and its constituents (including prospective and current students) to increase alumni participation and giving. Examples of programs and events under the leadership of the Sr. Director for Engagement included (but is not limited to) the Student Philanthropy Council, the Alumni in Admissions Program, Regional Rebel Networks, Graduates of the Last Decade (G.O.L.D) programming, UNLV Alumni Association (UNLVAA) events and programs, including the Annual Alumni Awards and the Fred C. Albrecht Scholarship Golf Tournament, and others as determined by the AVP or Divisional Leadership. The position will work in partnership with the AVP to develop and manage an overall budget (cash and in-kind) split between funds from the UNLV Foundation and the UNLV Alumni Association, all used to promote overall alumni, donor, and student engagement with UNLV.
