About The Position

Financial Discipline through Sound practices Senior Director, Financial Control About the role Are you an individual who drives corporate financial integrity? The Senior Director, Financial Control serves as the second-in-command within the finance team, supporting the Financial Controller in managing financial operations, reporting, compliance, and internal controls. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial information and systems across the organization. Based in our Irvine office on a hybrid basis you’ll driving critical operational efficiency, maintaining fiscal discipline, and enabling data-driven decision making across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, MBA or CPA highly preferred.
  • 7–10+ years of progressive experience in financial management and accounting
  • Proven leadership experience with high integrity and trust.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS, Financial reporting systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite), ERP systems and financial modeling tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in public accounting (Big 4 a plus).
  • Experience in multi-business unit corporations or complex organizational structures.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting Oversee and manage general ledger activities ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Lead the month-end close process including preparation and review of journal entries and financial reports.
  • Prepare month end reporting to assess financial performance, presenting to management and FP&A
  • Develop new reporting suitable for the business to aid in decision making
  • Assist in financial statement audit and preparation of audit materials by the team
  • Compliance and operations Supervise finance staff and oversee daily accounting operations
  • Maintain strong financial controls and ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Perform and review account reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Support project accounting including tracking and reporting of project costs.
  • Systems management Support and embed the implementation of Workday as the ERP of the US business
  • People management Manage a team of accounting managers and accountants to deliver required reporting and outcomes
  • Invest in the development of team members to ensure the team is considered to be high performing
