Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management or related field
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • Prior experience operating a carrier class network
  • Thorough understanding of Optical Transport
  • Proven background running a large hyperscale organization
  • Prior experience in a 24/7 NOC environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead in cultivating a strong organizational culture aligned with strategic goals
  • Manage vendors and external consultants as required to produce specialty work products
  • Develop, outline, write and deliver business process and strategy proposals
  • Direct multiple project teams and/or provide ownership and high-value solutions to the Company
  • Provide leadership and direction for diverse and complex functions
  • Contribute to the development of the organization's business strategy
  • Interpret business strategy and develop organizational objectives to align with this strategy
  • Solve complex business issues through process improvement or strategic planning
  • Improve field force, engineering staff and customer service effectiveness through work force management and process optimization
  • Identify complex business issues and recommend value added solutions
  • Direct the Excellence in Operations (XOC's) strategic planning efforts
  • Integrate business solutions with technology innovations
  • Manage large-scale process improvement programs, including logistics planning, scheduling, communications and change management
  • Review industry trends in utility operations including advances in technology and the resulting impact on managing business
  • Create business operations capability, leveraging shared support groups
  • Develop a pipeline of technical expertise that will be required to meet long-term business goals
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
  • Maintain regular, consistent and punctual attendance
  • Work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary
