About The Position

The Senior Director, Solutions Architecture is a senior leadership role responsible for two critical organizational functions: (1) leading and managing teams of technical architects in the design, governance, and lifecycle management of the Peraton Mission Services Portfolio, and (2) providing enterprise-wide oversight of the solution development function — defining a standardized methodology, training teams in its use, and guiding solution development efforts to produce compelling, competitive offerings that win business. This role serves as the bridge between strategic business objectives and technical execution, ensuring that solutions are architecturally sound, differentiated, and positioned to win. This position will be located in Reston, Virginia, with occasional travel to support distributed teams, customer engagements, or industry events.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience: 18+ years of progressive experience in IT architecture, engineering, or solution design, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing technical architects or engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and managing IT or engineering service offerings.
  • Proven track record of leading solution development efforts that resulted in competitive wins, including experience with customer engagement, shaping technical volumes, developing reference architectures, and guiding teams through complex pursuits.
  • Experience developing and delivering technical training programs, solution playbooks, reference architectures, and reusable design artifacts that elevate team performance.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman, DoDAF) and service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
  • Technical breadth across infrastructure, cloud platforms, application architecture, integration patterns, data architecture, and cybersecurity.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to executive, non-technical, and evaluator audiences in a compelling manner.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, including experience with performance management, talent development, and building high-performing teams.
  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain Top Secret clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience designing and managing an IT or engineering services portfolio at an enterprise scale.
  • Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, AWS/Azure/GCP Solutions Architect (Professional level), ITIL 4 Managing Professional, PMP, or CISSP.
  • Experience in government, defense, or regulated industries with familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., FedRAMP, RMF, NIST 800-53).
  • Experience with Agile/SAFe delivery models and integrating architecture governance into Agile workflows.
  • Direct experience in capture management, proposal development, or technical volume leadership for large-scale competitive bids.
  • Active US Government Top Secret security clearance preferred.
  • TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance eligibility desired.
