Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Director, Vice President of Engineering or Chief Technology Officer.
  • Experience in client-facing roles, with a knack for understanding and translating client needs into actionable strategies.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry, and familiarity with the data standards and regulatory requirements that drive healthcare technology decision making in the US.
  • Strong grasp of modern software development practices, cloud services, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.
  • Ongoing technical fluency and a track record of exploring and adopting new technologies, engineering principles, languages and infrastructure.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, inspire, and lead technical teams.
  • Adaptive and agile, comfortable in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
  • Collaborative mindset with a strong focus on value creation.
  • Passionate about continuous learning, innovation, and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a fractional engineering leader, including as a Consulting CTO, for Newfire customers, supporting short-term initiatives and long term engagements, including management of engineering resources from Newfire and from customers.
  • Engage with client leadership teams to understand their strategic tech needs, challenges, and growth ambitions and develop overall technology strategies.
  • Lead “Accelerated Starts,” strategic technology projects and technical assessments for VC, PE and privately funded organizations, providing executive oversight and overall responsibility for delivery.
  • Support Newfire’s sales team and leadership team in conversations with new customers, designing engagement models that maximize the value Newfire can deliver to those customers.
  • Act as a technical liaison for new service development, ensuring that our company's services align with the evolving needs of our clients.
  • Lead recruiting initiatives for key roles and participate in the development of Newfire’s engineering strategy.
  • Organize and lead workshops, tech talks, and training sessions.
  • Mentor and provide career growth guidance to our senior technical staff.
  • Develop and refine technical frameworks, methodologies, and best practices for our teams to adopt as best practices which can be shared with customers.
