As a Senior Director of Engineering at Nutanix, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing developer productivity and overseeing release operations within a fast-paced, innovative environment. This position requires a seasoned engineering leader with a strong background in cloud-scale engineering, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), and release operations. You will be responsible for optimizing efficiency and driving strategic improvements across our software development operations globally. Your expertise will be crucial in designing and developing reliable, efficient, and high-performance software tailored for large-scale enterprise and hybrid cloud environments. In this role, you will engage with various teams to deliver high-quality products while addressing complex customer requirements through innovative solutions. You will also have the opportunity to interact directly with customers, assisting them in resolving production issues and ensuring their needs are met. A significant aspect of your responsibilities will involve managing technical debt and driving performance goals for the platform, all while collaborating closely with support and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to ensure prompt resolution of customer issues. You will oversee engineering program management, ensuring excellent orchestration across cross-functional teams to identify and implement best practices for programs and developer productivity processes. Your leadership will be essential in developing and implementing strategic plans for the Developer Productivity team and Program & Release Management, focusing on overall excellence. You will manage engineering operations, budgets, and enablement, while also fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the organization. Your role will require you to stay updated on industry trends and advancements in DevOps technologies, making recommendations for their integration into the organization's strategy. This position demands a commitment to security, regulatory, and governance standards, along with a proactive approach to risk management and capacity planning. You will be expected to monitor and report on team performance and the solutions produced, ensuring that applications are designed with scalability, resilience, and performance in mind.
