About your role: The Senior Director Domestic Tax Planning will be a key player in identifying, implementing, and defending tax planning initiatives. This will require interaction and alignment with various groups across the enterprise. The Corporate Tax team is responsible for all aspects of Fiserv’s domestic and international taxes, is part of the CFO’s organization, and is viewed as a value-added, trusted business advisor throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience with a strong technical and applied knowledge base of US federal and state tax laws
  • Experience with acquisitions and divestitures and demonstrated understanding of complex domestic and international structures
  • Tax technical skills and experience with US GAAP ASC740 Tax Accounting concepts
  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting and related experience and/or military experience.
  • You must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization to be considered for this role. Individuals with temporary visas including, but not limited to, F-1 (OPT, CPT, STEM), H-1B, H-2, or TN, or any candidate requiring sponsorship, now or in the future, will not be considered for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement domestic tax planning initiatives including domestic transfer pricing strategies, legal entity rationalization, acquisition strategies, etc., to drive shareholder value.
  • Lead technical tax research, calculation, and documentation efforts related to Federal and State income tax matters.
  • Lead U.S. tax due diligence efforts with respect to potential mergers and acquisitions as well as post-acquisition planning and integration efforts.
  • Lead integration efforts between tax planning, tax reporting, finance, legal, HR, and tax compliance teams to ensure that planning initiatives are properly executed, risks are mitigated, and positions and transactions are appropriately accounted for and reflected in tax returns and ASC 740.
  • Identify, evaluate and implement federal and state credit opportunities including modeling, documentation and coordination with key stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate claims.
  • Support the development and implementation of Tax Department automation initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
