The Senior Director, Demand & Supply Planning Center of Excellence (CoE) is responsible for designing, implementing, and governing best‑in‑class demand, supply, and integrated planning capabilities across the organization. This role leads the Center of Excellence for planning, setting standards, enabling innovation, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring alignment between commercial, operations, and finance functions. The role acts as a strategic thought leader, process owner, and change agent to elevate planning excellence across business units.

Requirements

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Strong change management, stakeholder influence, and leadership abilities.
  • Experience in global or multi-regional planning environments.
  • Project management experience for cross-functional initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years in demand, supply, or integrated planning roles within complex organizations.
  • Experience leading or building Centers of Excellence or process transformation initiatives.
  • Expertise in S&OP/IBP, forecasting, inventory optimization, and supply network planning.
  • Hands-on experience with planning platforms (e.g., SAP IBP, Kinaxis, O9, Anaplan) with preference given to O9 experience.
  • Travel up to 20%
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Nice To Haves

  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP), Six Sigma, Lean, or equivalent.
  • Experience with AI/ML forecasting, demand sensing, or advanced analytics.
  • Industry experience in consumer goods, pharma, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Exposure to cost-to-serve modeling, network optimization, or digital supply chain initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the vision, strategy, roadmap, and operating model for the demand & supply planning CoE.
  • Establish governance, policies, standards, frameworks, and KPIs for demand, supply, and S&OP/IBP processes.
  • Provide oversight of planning process adherence, audit compliance, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Serve as a central point of escalation and decision-making for planning-related issues and trade-offs.
  • Design and standardize end-to-end demand planning, supply planning, inventory optimization, capacity planning, and S&OP / IBP processes.
  • Conduct gap/fits, process mapping, and redesign work to harmonize global / regional / local planning processes.
  • Build playbooks, templates, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and toolkits to support process execution.
  • Oversee implementation, and deployment of O9 planning system from a process standpoint.
  • Drive advanced analytics, forecasting algorithms, demand-sensing, scenario modeling, and data insights.
  • Lead user adoption efforts.
  • Ensure data quality, master data governance, and alignment with ERP and operational systems.
  • Act as a mentor / coach to business unit planning teams to raise planning maturity.
  • Build capability via training, workshops, certification programs, and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Manufacturing, Procurement, and IT.
  • Influence senior leadership to secure buy-in on planning trade-offs, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
  • Define and monitor KPIs such as forecast accuracy, bias, inventory turns, service levels, and cycle time.
  • Identify root causes of deviations and lead corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Benchmark against industry best practices and drive innovation using Lean, Six Sigma, and Agile planning.
  • Lead change management and transformation initiatives for planning maturity upgrades.
  • Forecast and anticipate demand volatility, supply constraints, and propose mitigation plans.
  • Develop scenario planning, supply vs. demand balancing simulations, and decision support models.
  • Support new product launches, SKU rationalization, capacity expansion, and supply transitions.
