About The Position

We are seeking a visionary and technically adept Senior Director of Data Delivery – Cloud Analytics to lead enterprise-wide data initiatives leveraging cutting-edge cloud technologies. This hybrid role blends strategic leadership, program management, and hands-on technical delivery, requiring deep expertise in cloud data platforms and exceptional stakeholder engagement capabilities.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in data delivery leadership, including 3+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks.
  • 3+ years of direct team management experience (8+ technical professionals).
  • Proven success delivering large-scale cloud data platforms (budgets of $1M+).
  • Strong technical proficiency in Spark, SQL, Python, and cloud architectures (Azure/AWS).
  • Experience with orchestration tools such as Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, or Airflow.
  • PMP, Scrum Master, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor technical talent and lead organizational change.

Nice To Haves

  • Databricks certification (Data Engineer Associate/Professional).
  • Cloud certifications (Azure Data Engineer, AWS Data Analytics Specialty).
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Background in MLOps and model deployment pipelines.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, containerization, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Prior consulting or client-facing delivery experience.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement scalable data solutions using Databricks, Azure/AWS services, and modern data stack technologies.
  • Design and build robust data pipelines, lakehouse architectures, and real-time analytics platforms.
  • Provide hands-on development support with Spark, SQL, Python, and Delta Lake.
  • Champion DataOps practices, CI/CD automation, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, quality, and security standards.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of complex data programs from ideation to production.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including data engineers, analysts, scientists, and DevOps.
  • Develop and manage project roadmaps, dependencies, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Implement agile methodologies to optimize team performance and delivery velocity.
  • Monitor delivery metrics, budget adherence, and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Manage and mentor a team of 8–15 data professionals across engineering, analytics, and DevOps.
  • Provide technical coaching, career development, and performance management.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Establish coding standards, best practices, and frameworks for technical excellence.
  • Drive hiring, onboarding, and retention strategies to build high-performing teams.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across the data organization.
  • Conduct talent assessments and succession planning for key roles.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, product owners, and executive sponsors to define and execute data strategy.
  • Translate complex business needs into actionable technical solutions and delivery plans.
  • Lead stakeholder communications, reporting, and change management initiatives.
  • Build consensus across diverse teams and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Present technical roadmaps and updates to C-level executives.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate cloud services and tooling contracts.
