About the role: Directs and controls technology architecture/development activities in area of responsibility, perhaps through subordinate managers/supervisors to ensure achievement of annual objectives. Responsible for policies and procedures and a full range of patterns and best practices within architecture programs such as developing strategies and objectives. Resolves issues and contributes to development of area or responsibility. Establishes operational objectives and work plans and delegates assignments to subordinates. Involved in developing, modifying and executing policies that affect immediate operations and may have a broader impact to the area or responsibility. Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives of the enterprise and/or the client’s business. Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to obtain results. Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans and performance requirements. Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels within the enterprise and/or client organizations. Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers. Expected to be primary mentor for others on staff and is a role model for rest of team. Ability to provide communication on issues or complex information to a wide audience based on knowledge. Participates as a senior member in strategic planning and direction. What you will be doing: Influences the shaping of future products by contributing to the architecture used across multiple products or systems. Works with senior stakeholders in the Business, Product, Technology, and Operations functions to design end-to-end solutions for strategic business initiatives. Identifies and allocates architecture resources to drive architectural decisions at an initiative/epic level to advance the IT roadmap, including the assessment of new technologies and technical debt that best fit business / project needs Adheres to the solution architecture delivery process and standards. Ensures solution architecture meets appropriate FIS policies and standards. Defines required business capabilities and aligns them with business operating models, technical platforms, technical integrations and underlying infrastructure. Identifies solution design options (e.g., Build / Buy / Partner) and analyses their strengths and weaknesses in order to present a recommendation with rationale. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise. Collaborates closely with multiple parties from across FIS, its partners and clients.
