About The Position

The Senior Director, Data & AI Governance is responsible for leading the strategic direction and execution of enterprise-wide data governance initiatives. This role oversees the development of policies, stewardship frameworks, and governance tooling to ensure data and AI assets are managed responsibly and efficiently. The Senior Director partners with cross-functional teams to embed governance into business workflows, drive compliance, and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making. Requirements

  • 10+years of experience in data governance, information management, or enterprise data strategy.
  • Proven leadership in cross-functional environments and large-scale transformation.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of data governance frameworks, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Experience with data stewardship, metadata management, and governance tooling.
  • Strong analytical, strategic planning, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership abilities.
  • Ability to influence senior leaders and drive change across complex organizations.
  • Experience developing and implementing governance programs in a matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

  • Define and activate enterprise data governance frameworks and operating models.
  • Lead development and enforcement of data policies, standards, and stewardship models.
  • Oversee governance tooling, enablement programs, and technology adoption.
  • Partner with business units to embed governance into workflows and processes.
  • Monitor data quality, compliance metrics, and drive remediation of issues.
  • Support transformation initiatives, change management, and organizational maturity.
  • Mentor governance managers, analysts, and data stewards.
  • Represent governance in enterprise forums, committees, and external engagements.
  • Champion a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Risk, and IT to ensure regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.
