About the position

The Senior Director, Customer Data Analytics and Data Science at Quest Diagnostics is a strategic leadership role focused on developing and delivering data and analytics solutions to enhance healthcare outcomes across various markets. This position involves leading a team of data professionals to create impactful analytical insights, predictive models, and visualizations, while collaborating with multiple departments to align analytics solutions with product roadmaps and customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management to a team of data scientists, data analysts, and dashboard developers.
  • Manage and optimize the creation and delivery of data licensing, analytics, and dashboard products.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team fostering innovation and career growth.
  • Champion best practices in data governance, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with HAS leadership and other teams to drive innovation and growth in support of the business strategy.
  • Establish consistent processes to support product and revenue growth.
  • Coordinate with the Quest Technology Organization to improve the data science development environment.
  • Collaborate to develop and promote best practices for data management and ETL.
  • Test and ensure solutions yield high-quality results in accordance with quality standards.
  • Document and communicate objectives, requirements, and designs to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Create and manage operating costs, capital, schedule, and human resources costs of proposed solutions.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in big data, analytics, machine learning, and predictive modeling.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data preparation, management, and delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and managing workflow and delivery processes.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing remote teams with leadership and project management skills.
  • Expert knowledge in developing analytics solutions in a cloud environment using modern data science tools.
  • Knowledge of SAS tools (SAS Studio, SAS Enterprise Guide, etc.).
  • Expert knowledge of machine learning and data visualization tools in business contexts.
  • Experience leading advanced analytics and machine learning projects through the full lifecycle.
  • Successful application of advanced quantitative analyses and statistical modeling.
  • Experience with scripting languages and rapid prototyping skills (SQL, Python, etc.).
  • Skill in statistical and modeling packages such as SAS, R, and Matlab.
  • Ability to summarize results from analysis to diverse audiences.
  • Experience with time-series data and methods such as regression and classification.
  • Experience with Deep Learning tools like TensorFlow.

Nice-to-haves

  • Cloud certification preferred.
  • Experience in full software life cycle development, primarily in agile delivery.
