Overview Microsoft’s Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the hardware infrastructure underlying this growth including AI! Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 8+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, Sales & Operations Planning, material requirement planning systems and tools, quantitative & qualitative analysis in cross functional or organizational enterprise environment, or related experience OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 6+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, Sales & Operations Planning, material requirement planning systems and tools, quantitative & qualitative analysis in cross functional or organizational enterprise environment, or related experience OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading supply chain or planning for custom silicon or hyperscale cloud infrastructure

Responsibilities

  • Portfolio-Level Supply Planning Leadership Own the integrated supply planning strategy and execution across all custom and semi-custom silicon programs (Maia, Cobalt, and future designs). Translate long-range demand signals (3 to 5+ years) into portfolio-level, capacity-constrained supply plans aligned with semiconductor industry realities. Drive scenario planning across demand, yield, and supply variability to inform strategic and operational decisions.
  • Organizational Leadership & Capability Building Lead and scale an organization of supply planning leaders and planners, establishing clear accountability and development pathways. Build a silicon supply planning center of excellence, standardizing processes, systems, and governance across programs. Drive organizational maturity to support an expanding portfolio of custom and semi-custom silicon initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional & Ecosystem Alignment Partner with Capacity Planning to align silicon supply with Microsoft’s global rack deployment strategy (timing, volume, and regionalization). Collaborate with Sourcing and Supplier Management to incorporate supplier capacity, lead times, allocation dynamics, and risk signals. Engage with Engineering leadership on roadmap alignment, yield ramps, and product lifecycle transitions. Work closely with Finance to align supply strategies with multi-year capex plans, investment pacing, and financial targets. Interface (in partnership with sourcing) with key ecosystem players including foundries, OSATs, substrate suppliers, and design partners.
  • Integrated Supply & Capex Strategy Co-own the multi-year supply and capital investment strategy, including wafer capacity reservations, long-lead material commitments, and infrastructure scaling. Drive trade-off decisions across cost, risk, and supply assurance using scenario-based and TCO modeling. Ensure alignment between supply plans, deployment needs, and financial commitments at the executive level. Define and execute multi-year silicon supply chain strategies informed by market intelligence, capacity outlooks, and supplier landscape evolution.
  • Execution, Risk Management & Operational Excellence Ensure delivery against demand plans through optimized forward and reverse supply chain flows. Maintain continuity of supply while optimizing inventory and working capital across programs. Establish enterprise-level risk management frameworks and escalation channels across the semiconductor supply base. Drive performance across cost, quality, compliance, and on-time delivery metrics.
  • Executive Leadership & Governance Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership on supply outlook, risks, and investment trade-offs. Lead executive-level rhythms, including supply reviews, scenario discussions, and decision forums. Define stage gates and governance models to enable timely, high-quality decision-making across programs. Communicate complex supply-demand dynamics and changes with clarity and precision.
  • Operating Agility at Scale Navigate a high-growth, high-ambiguity environment, balancing strategic foresight with tactical execution. Lead through complexity, driving alignment and decisions across a highly matrixed organization.
