About The Position

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Compensation Consulting team at Mercer. This role will be based in Tampa. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. Compensation consultants work with a wide range of clients to help them develop and implement reward programs for their employees, providing expert advice on pay philosophy, reward strategy, incentive design, market trends, regulations and best practices. Drawing on global research and rigorous analysis, compensation consultants equip clients with guidance, knowledge, tools and support to ensure their reward programs reinforce their strategic objectives. A Senior Compensation Consulting Director leads and inspires a large department or unit to execute its strategy and deliver business results, by setting direction and empowering teams to perform. As a Senior Director – Compensation Consulting, you will lead a team of managers overseeing multiple teams within the Career consulting business. You will execute strategy, manage budgets and staffing, and engage with clients to deliver impactful compensation solutions that support their business objectives.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in compensation consulting with proven leadership of teams and client relationships
  • Strong expertise in designing and implementing compensation programs and incentive plans
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, staffing, and deliver high-quality client work
  • Excellent client-facing skills with a track record of revenue generation and business development

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading medium to large teams within mobility or compensation consulting
  • Ability to provide strategic consulting on broader Human Capital topics beyond compensation
  • Proven success in developing and maintaining strong client relationships that lead to business growth

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a medium-sized unit, including budgeting, staffing, and strategic direction
  • Oversee client engagements by leading meetings, addressing questions, and resolving complex deliverable issues
  • Structure, direct, review, and interpret analyses and client deliverables performed by project teams
  • Design financial performance measurement and target-setting systems, as well as short-term incentive programs aligned with client strategies
  • Develop broad-based compensation strategies and programs addressing attraction, retention, and market competitiveness
  • Provide consulting services to senior management on remuneration and broader Human Capital issues
  • Generate revenue through new client acquisition, cross-selling, and extending current client engagements
  • Delegate effectively to develop team members and leverage work to appropriate career levels
