About The Position

The Senior Director provides leadership for Goodwill Industries of Central Florida’s transitional and supported work programs. This role ensures operational excellence in referral management, participant supervision, documentation, and store integration. The position safeguards the integrity of our social enterprise by ensuring that transitional and supported work participants contribute reliably to store operations while receiving structured supervision and support. This is an operator-first leadership role with executive maturity.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of job accommodation and modification techniques.
  • Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Rehabilitation Technologies, and Instructional techniques.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of a vocational rehabilitation facility.
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques used in vocational counseling.
  • Knowledge of applicable CARF standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective judgment for use in interviewing and coordinating with internal and external sources to the agency.
  • Ability to manage stress related to crisis intervention, meeting tight time targets and managing employees.
  • Ability to supervise others effectively and guide a well-structured team approach.
  • Ability to market programs to agencies and clients.
  • 7+ years leading workforce or employment programs.
  • Multi-site operational supervision experience.
  • Direct management of supervisors.
  • Demonstrated documentation and compliance rigor.
  • Experience serving individuals with barriers to employment.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License with an insurable record and current private auto insurance policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within Goodwill or similar social enterprise.
  • Experience working with Vocational Rehabilitation or similar funders.
  • Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership Responsible for transitional and supported work across all participating stores.
  • Lead Community Employment Training Team.
  • Ensure steady, reliable participant labor inputs into Donated Goods Retail (DGR) operations.
  • Protect store managers from case-management burdens.
  • Maintain and strengthen referral pipelines across six counties.
  • Serve as primary operational contact for Vocational Rehabilitation and other referral partners.
  • Align participant flow with store capacity by partnering with DGR.
  • Ensure accurate case notes and documentation.
  • Maintain billing integrity and contract compliance.
  • Monitor performance and risk exposure.
  • Provide clear operational reporting and metrics.
  • Collaborate closely with DGR leadership to ensure integration.
  • Ensure effective communications with clients, employers, parents/care providers, social service agencies, and referral sources to coordinate services to meet participant program needs.
  • Serve as the leader of the CARF Accreditation by maintaining a good working knowledge of CARF standards and ensure departmental compliance with all relevant standards.
  • Coordinate the annual survey of employers in a timely manner to determine the prevailing community wages.
  • Ensure compliance with program and fiscal requirements of contractual funding streams.
  • Maintain an accurate awareness of the general conditions of business and the economy in the service territory via periodicals, reports, and personal contacts; periodically document labor market trends and developments.
  • Assist in the development and establishment of new programs and services through research, and networking.
  • Assist in the development and control of the department’s operating budget.
  • Assist with holding quarterly In-Service training and case records reviews.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
