About The Position

As Senior Director, Community Content Strategy, you will be responsible for the content ecosystem underlying BigFuture products, which engage over 15 million unique users a year. In partnership with the Product and Technology teams, you'll shape our content-as-product strategy to support personalized exploration on BigFuture.org. You'll lead editorial strategy for content served throughout our product, first in a searchable content library and eventually AI-enabled conversation and alongside tools. You and your team will rapidly create high volume, information-rich, authentic video and text content. You'll set and maintain a high bar for content as a player-coach managing staff.

Requirements

  • 7+ years managing content systems and creation in partnership with product teams.
  • Excellent writer capable of rapid, high-volume generation of accurate, compelling content.
  • Experience in content strategy and multimedia creation, including video, articles and graphics.
  • Experience-driven intuition to engage Gen Z / Gen Alpha in meaningful college / career exploration.
  • 2+ years of experience as a people manager or as project lead in matrix environment.
  • Strong quantitative orientation to routinely diagnose, prioritize and assess.
  • Strong emotional intelligence to reach outcomes via cross-functional partnerships.
  • Experience tracking and managing KPI's with Adobe Analytics, Tableau and other tools.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Experience managing team workflows via Monday.com or similar tools.
  • Deep experience leveraging Drupal or similar content management systems.
  • Strong management instincts or experience to maintain a high bar for quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Align community content with the BigFuture product vision and roadmap for personalized exploration.
  • Own an editorial roadmap for multimedia content for the BigFuture.org product, informed by student and parent needs, business goals and landscape trends.
  • Oversee research and define objectives, messaging and approach for community content generation.
  • Define ambitious quantitative goals for content, track KPI's, diagnose opportunities and gaps, and ensure robust tracking systems in partnership with Web Analytics.
  • Manage user research and feedback systems to gauge needs, surface use cases and refine content.
  • Strategically curate and serve content via a content management system to drive log-ins and other product engagement metrics.
  • Prioritize and manage community team's backlog of content concepts and editorial calendar to drive timely, consistent and rapid content creation.
  • Establish and refine robust processes and systems to plan, create and review high-quality content.
  • Set staff expectations and screen all content for quality, accuracy and alignment with brand positioning, voice and style guidance.
  • Regularly implement all aspects of content production, including research, planning, interviewing and partnering with production teams while simultaneously managing the community content team.
  • Manage vendor relationships and systems to ensure economical, efficient delivery of content.
  • Surface content-as-product needs to Product and Tech teams and consult throughout discovery, design and implementation processes.
  • Surface go-to-market needs and outcomes and track cross-functional efforts to grow audiences, expand reach and strengthen the BigFuture brand.
  • In partnership with Engagement and Reach Team, set direction and provide feedback to promote BigFuture content across multiple channels.
  • Own all aspects of team and people development (prioritization, expectations, evaluation, and attraction of new talent).
