TripleLift is looking for a visionary Senior Director, Cloud Architecture to lead and evolve the cloud foundation that powers one of the most dynamic platforms in advertising technology. This senior leadership role requires deep technical expertise and strategic thinking to translate complex infrastructure challenges into scalable, forward-looking solutions while inspiring and growing a high-performing team. The successful candidate will own the architectural direction of the cloud environment, partnering closely with Engineering, Security, Product, and business leadership to ensure infrastructure is built for reliability, performance, and scale. This role is for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, embraces ambiguity as an opportunity, and has a track record of turning bold architectural visions into production reality.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure or platform engineering, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership or staff/principal-level technical role
  • Deep, hands-on expertise with AWS (EC2, EKS, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation/Terraform, and related services)
  • Strong command of infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, or similar) and CI/CD automation practices
  • Demonstrated experience driving cloud security, governance, and compliance programs (SOC2, PCI, NIST CSF, or equivalent)
  • Track record of leading and developing distributed engineering teams with empathy, clarity, and accountability
  • Exceptional communication skills — able to synthesize complex technical decisions for both engineering teams and executive stakeholders
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and navigating competing priorities without losing sight of long-term architectural integrity
  • A collaborative, inclusive leadership style with a genuine investment in the growth of others
  • Passion for staying current with cloud innovation and translating that curiosity into organizational impact

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive TripleLift's cloud architecture strategy and multi-year roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives, engineering priorities, and product growth
  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable, resilient, and cost-optimized cloud infrastructure across AWS, with an emphasis on high-availability and low-latency systems
  • Partner with Engineering and Platform teams to establish cloud-native best practices, architectural standards, and governance frameworks that scale across the organization
  • Oversee infrastructure as code practices, CI/CD pipeline integrations, and automation strategies to accelerate delivery and reduce operational overhead
  • Architect and enforce security-by-design principles, including IAM, network segmentation, encryption, and compliance controls aligned with SOC2, PCI, and other relevant frameworks
  • Lead cloud cost management initiatives, identifying optimization opportunities and instilling a culture of fiscal responsibility across engineering teams
  • Evaluate and champion emerging cloud technologies and industry trends, translating them into actionable investments that maintain TripleLift's competitive edge
  • Serve as a technical escalation point and executive sponsor for critical infrastructure incidents, driving swift resolution and durable remediation
  • Mentor and develop a team of cloud and infrastructure engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, psychological safety, and continuous learning
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Security, Data Engineering, and Product to ensure cloud architecture supports evolving platform capabilities and customer commitments
