About The Position

The Senior Director, Clean Energy Policy (CEP) is responsible for shaping the strategic direction of the company's clean energy policies and driving the transition towards clean energy for utilities. This role involves overseeing the development of clean energy roadmaps, programs, and pilot proposals, while collaborating with various business areas to implement strategies that align with the company's objectives. The Senior Director also serves as a subject matter expert in regulatory proceedings and advocates for clean energy initiatives with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in energy policy development, regulatory utility processes, strategy development, or project design.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, Sustainability, Environmental Studies, Business, or a related field.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience leading cross-functional, diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters in a technical field and/or MBA.
  • Experience leading a large geographically dispersed team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for the development of clean energy policy, programs, and pilots.
  • Collaborate with business area leaders to identify business development needs and align with demonstration opportunities.
  • Lead the sponsorship of demonstration project implementation and develop skilled project teams.
  • Develop the strategy and plan for future utility platform planning in collaboration with Integrated System Planning and Operations.
  • Align strategies with stakeholder objectives to enhance integrated system planning processes.
  • Connect customers with options to manage their energy usage and bills, facilitating innovation.
  • Coordinate the furtherance of strategies through representation at state, regional, and federal committees.
  • Seek partnerships and business opportunities with innovative external vendors.
  • Partner with Corporate Innovation and Iberdrola peers to enhance global innovation experience.
  • Monitor trends in electrification and decarbonization, adjusting plans as necessary.
  • Develop leadership capabilities and succession planning for the team.
