The Sr. Director, Business Operations will provide cross-functional leadership and management to ensure the successful launch of key initiatives across Energy Recovery. This role involves leading the new product introduction process and other critical cross-enterprise projects. Collaborating with senior leaders from various departments, including Business Units, R D, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Marketing, this leader will drive overall program plans to ensure successful product launches and the execution of other initiatives. The position will manage a small team of two project managers, ensuring critical milestones are met and identifying opportunities to accelerate progress, reduce costs, and maintain high quality. Broad business acumen is essential to balance the needs of diverse external and internal stakeholders. Successful incumbents in this role may advance to large commercial leadership or significant functional leadership positions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated broad business and financial acumen through a successful track record in consulting, engineering, or commercial roles.
  • Direct experience in planning, executing, supervising, and controlling technical, operational, financial, budgeting, and contractual commitments.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with proven ability to drive accountability and a shared sense of purpose within the team.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a results-driven approach.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Manage NPI programs from concept to market launch, leading cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery and accountability.
  • Oversee large enterprise projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Mentor, guide, and support a team of two project managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within all projects and the company.
  • All other projects and duties as assigned.
