The Senior Director, Analytics at Optum Services, Inc. is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities in fields such as electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, and computer programming. This role involves building, maintaining, and producing leadership-facing reports as required for the market, ensuring proper capture of quality data submissions, and identifying opportunities for improvement in workflow. The Senior Director will work with provider and membership data leadership to ensure data integrity of physician data in all reporting systems, oversee and drive solutions with guidance from executive leadership, and manage expectations of key stakeholders to ensure timely completion of assigned projects. The position also includes evaluating team members' performance and establishing the delivery of top-tier services and products to clients.

  • Plan, direct, or coordinate activities in electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, and computer programming.
  • Build, maintain, and produce leadership facing reports as required for the market.
  • Ensure proper capture of quality data submissions and identify opportunities for improvement in workflow.
  • Work with provider and membership data leadership to ensure data integrity of physician data in all reporting systems.
  • Oversee and drive solutions with guidance from executive leadership.
  • Oversee and bring to resolution ad-hoc operational initiatives as assigned.
  • Make recommendations to ensure reliability of all market reporting and find innovative solutions if problems occur.
  • Communicate with all functional business groups regarding the evolution of data and reporting.
  • Define and carry out priorities of the analytics team.
  • Provide training on new technology and report to providers or team members as needed.
  • Measure the success and impact of various initiatives.
  • Evaluate team members' level of performance and provide performance management.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Analytics or related field.
  • Four (4) years of experience in the job offered or in an Analytics-related occupation.
  • Experience in Healthcare Payer and provider performance, Value Based Care models, Healthcare interoperability technologies, and HEDIS Quality Measures.
  • Experience in data analytics, quality, information technology, and statistical analysis.
  • Experience leading operational and IT initiatives.
  • Experience in data evaluation and manipulation.
  • Experience managing clinical quality initiatives.
  • Experience in project management or operational leadership.
  • Experience developing business intelligence products for self-service analytics.
  • Technical SME to lead analysts in SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and Alteryx.
  • Experience in workflow analysis and optimization using specialized workflow management tools.
  • Experience developing the department analytics roadmap for digital innovation.
