About The Position

The Opportunity We, at Flywire, are seeking a Senior Director, Accounting Operations & SOX Compliance to lead global accounting operations, SOX compliance, and consolidation. Lead and support a high functioning team of international accounting professionals through a period of rapid growth and technological transformation. Serve as a trusted advisor to the Corporate Controller, CFO, FP&A and executive leadership on accounting, reporting, and control matters. Primary lead for internal and external audits, with ability to resolve audit matters and anticipate challenges due to complex transactions and volume growth. Implement best practices, processes and controls to support operational teams including: A/P, Billing, Receivables and Payroll. Act as a key stakeholder in financial systems strategy, including ERP implementations, upgrades, and automation initiatives. Drive process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and controls across accounting and close processes. Partner with Operations, Analytics, IT, and other stakeholders to optimize data integrity and reporting capabilities. Build, lead, and mentor a global accounting organization, fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement. Develop organizational structure and talent development strategies. Oversee key month-end, quarter-end and year-end tasks to ensure close timelines are maintained/accelerated.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Director of Accounting in a comparable role at a publicly traded company within a high growth environment, preferably within software/technology space.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA required and BIG4/Public Company experience a strong plus)
  • Participation, or leadership, of transformational projects (ERP implementation, integrations, data configuration)
  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting.
  • Proven experience leading global accounting teams, managing complex close processes and delivering within corporate timelines.
  • Strong experience with internal controls, audit management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication to internal and external stakeholders with confidence and skill to up-level communications for c-level audience.
  • Experience with Workday FINS and Accounting Center with demonstrated ability to drive transformation and automation of routine tasks.
