About The Position

The Senior Digital Enablement Data Architect at Travelers Insurance is responsible for leading the technology target state for the Digital Enablement Unit. This role involves collaborating with senior technology leaders to transform business and technology capabilities, defining roadmaps, and identifying emerging technologies. The architect will mentor a team of architects, drive technology modernization, and ensure alignment with enterprise strategy while fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of technology architecture and engineering experience.
  • Experience mentoring architects.
  • Organizational and transformational experience in an agile operating model.
  • Strong proven software engineering experience.
  • Experience developing technology target states and roadmaps aligned with business goals.
  • Proven track record of influencing senior leadership.
  • Experience in insurance technology.
  • Strong grasp of value creation and business capability models.
  • Hands-on experience with technology transformations, including cloud migration and API strategy.
  • Current deep experience with AWS, APIs, accelerators, and DevSecOps.
  • Cloud Architecture Certification (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or strong architecture experience on Cloud.
  • Good understanding of security and large-scale technology platforms.
  • Foundation in traditional relational databases (Oracle, SQL).

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture efforts within the Digital Enablement business unit.
  • Develop architecture priorities and direction in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Drive technology transformation to minimize technical debt.
  • Create partnerships with Senior Software Engineering teams.
  • Conduct analysis of industry trends to assess potential impacts on the enterprise.
  • Define and lead technology proof of concepts to ensure feasibility of architecture solutions.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architects and engineers to adopt AWS services and Travelers Enterprise Capabilities.
  • Define target state technology architecture and roadmaps.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive communications regarding architectural direction.
  • Optimize talent strategy to attract and recruit top talent.
  • Continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the architecture.
