About The Position

WM is seeking a Senior Diesel Mechanic who desires a safer work environment, financial security, and career advancement. This role offers stability and comprehensive benefits. As a Senior Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment, including diesel and, at some locations, CNG trucks. You will use modern tools and procedures to perform maintenance, estimate time and material costs, respond to emergency breakdowns, and conduct safety checks. The position involves completing required paperwork, assisting other mechanics, and maintaining a clean and safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards. Requirements

  • 4 years of relevant work experience
  • A valid drivers license, with a clean driving record
  • Be over 18 years of age.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
  • Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
  • Perform your work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
  • Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
  • Safety checks on vehicles – the safety of every single employee and the people in our communities is our number one priority
  • Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Assisting senior Mechanics in the completion of project work.
  • Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
