About The Position

Mega Disposal is seeking a Senior Diesel Mechanic with a minimum of 5 years’ experience to join our team at our site in Seekonk, MA. Schedule: Monday through Friday / Day Shift / 50-55 hours per week (OT Eligible) Pay Rate: $35.00 to $45.00 per hour (Dependent on experience) Why Choose Us? Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License with Clean Driving Record
  • Must have proven experience as a diesel mechanic, with strong knowledge of diesel engines, diagnostic tools, and repair procedures for heavy-duty trucks.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to adapt to a wide variety of environments to complete work assignments

Nice To Haves

  • Waste Industry experience preferred!

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and inspections, safety checks, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, engine, suspension, brake and air systems on diesel vehicles.
  • Utilize vehicle computer electrical systems to interpret failure modes to identify and adjust Engine and Vehicle Control modules
  • Respond to road calls for emergency repairs
  • Reviewing, completing or assigning repairs identified on driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Completing required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software programs.
  • Test driving trucks after services and repairs
  • Helping other team members with repairs as needed.
  • Having professional and courteous interactions with our drivers when needed.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
  • Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
