About The Position

As a Senior Diesel Mechanic at WM, you will enjoy a safer work environment, career progression, and stability for your family. This position offers a chance to work in a repair/maintenance shop at our Ft Worth, TX hauling site, where you will be responsible for fixing trucks and equipment that service over 20 million customers across the USA. You will use modern tools and procedures to deliver exceptional maintenance on both diesel equipment and, at some locations, on our growing fleet of CNG trucks.

Requirements

  • 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be over 18 years of age.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong foundation in electrical systems.
  • Solid understanding of trash hydraulics.
  • Experience with compressed natural gas (CNG) operations.
  • Cummins certification.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
  • Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
  • Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
  • Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
  • Conduct safety checks on vehicles.
  • Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage and accounting for repair times.
  • Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards.
