ROLE SUMMARY The Senior DevOps Engineer role exists to evolve and scale the platform, reduce operational friction and enable development teams to move faster without increasing production risk. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on: Platform reliability, GitOps and CI/CD maturity, Automation of operational work, Elimination of bottlenecks in infrastructure and processes. The role is about improving existing systems and making DevOps less of a manual dependency for the business.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing developer self-service solutions CI/CD, infra access, environments).
  • Designing and maintaining standardised, reusable solution patterns (“golden paths”) instead of one-off, custom implementations.
  • Enabling teams to solve common problems without DevOps intervention. Improving developer experience without compromising security or reliability.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and incident response.
  • Lead or actively contribute to production incident resolution.
  • Perform root cause analysis using observability tooling.
  • Drive post-incident remediation and preventive actions.
  • Identifying operational and platform bottlenecks.
  • Automating recurring tasks and support requests.
  • Improving existing infrastructure rather than building parallel solutions. Eliminating single points of failure in systems and processes. Balancing reliability, cost, and delivery speed.
  • Share knowledge within the DevOps team and across engineering.
  • Document decisions, patterns, and operational procedures.
  • Lead by example through code quality, reviews, and design discussions. Reduce tribal knowledge and “ask DevOps” dependencies.
