About The Position

Markon’s partner company is seeking a DevOps Engineer Level 3 to support the deployment, automation, integration, and sustainment of Linux-based platforms in a high-performance environment. This role includes building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, containerized environments, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and supporting Kubernetes clusters—primarily in bare metal Linux environments. The ideal candidate is a strong troubleshooter with proven experience supporting software and infrastructure at scale.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • 15+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Strong experience using the Linux CLI in operational environments
  • Experience developing and maintaining scripts using Bash and Python
  • Experience developing with Python and Java in a Linux environment
  • General HPC technical knowledge, including compute/network/memory/storage fundamentals
  • Experience installing, configuring, and supporting COTS/GOTS/FOSS software, libraries, and packages in Linux
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker and containerd
  • Experience with container orchestration such as Kubernetes
  • Experience administering Kubernetes clusters on bare metal in Linux environments
  • Strong knowledge of IaC principles and automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform
  • Experience with CI/CD concepts and tools such as GitLab CI
  • Experience using Git version control

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day DevOps engineering supporting build, deployment, and sustainment activities
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash and Python
  • Support development workflows in a Linux environment, including Python and Java-based toolchains
  • Install, configure, and support COTS/GOTS/FOSS software, libraries, and packages on Linux systems
  • Support containerized application deployments using Docker and/or containerd
  • Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot Kubernetes environments in support of mission systems
  • Administer Kubernetes clusters on bare metal Linux infrastructure
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Ansible and Terraform
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI
  • Use Git for version control, configuration management, and collaborative workflows
  • Apply general HPC knowledge (compute, networking, memory, storage) to support performance and reliability objectives
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across system, container, orchestration, and pipeline layers
