About The Position

Deploy, manage, and maintain Zoom's gateway services-including Zoom AIC, Whiteboard, Notes, and Live Caption/Translation. All while monitoring infrastructure and creating automation solutions that streamline operations and reduce manual effort. You'll take ownership as the on-call engineer for assigned services, ensuring uptime and reliability, and lead full lifecycle service deployment with continuous production monitoring. In this swift, high-impact environment, you'll mentor team members in best automation practices to minimize toil, enhance efficiency. This will help drive cloud-native innovation and operational excellence across the organization. About the Team Zoom is at the forefront of revolutionizing collaboration experiences. We are seeking an exceptional Senior DevOps Engineer to drive continuous improvements for our Zoom Gateway and Flagship services. This role requires expertise in building robust automation, collaborating with developers, enhancing monitoring systems, and contributing to the overall advancement of our services.

Requirements

  • Have a BS or MS in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of hands-on DevOps experience, with proven expertise in infrastructure design, automation, and cloud-native operations.
  • Demonstrate experience with AWS services and Kubernetes-based production deployments.
  • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and configuration management tools (Ansible).
  • Bring scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go.
  • Present experience deploying and monitoring containerized workloads using Kubernetes and Docker in production.

Responsibilities

  • Bringing knowledge and hands-on experience on AWS/OCI or similar Cloud Platform. Deploying and maintaining gateway services on Kubernetes clusters across multi-cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Developing and enhancing automation pipelines using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Python, Bash, Shell Script, C++, Java, or Go.
  • Monitoring and ensuring the health of production systems utilizing observability tools like Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, and ELK Stack.
  • Leading large-scale, high-impact technical projects to improve deployment processes and operational stability. Acting as a technical mentor for junior engineers promoting automation and operational best practices
  • Participating in on-call rotations, responding to incidents and ensuring rapid resolution. Work collaboratively across teams to drive continuous improvements.
  • Managing communication skills and positive attitude to demanding situations while leading team members to accomplish project goals.
