About The Position

NextLink Labs is a technical consulting firm specializing in helping companies build, scale, and secure their technology through custom software development, DevOps, and application security services. Our clients range from startups to public companies, especially in regulated and complex industries like healthcare, finance, and manufacturing. Whether it’s implementing CI/CD or designing a secure cloud architecture, we’re a hands-on team known for moving fast, automating relentlessly, and coaching engineering teams as we solve complex DevOps and security challenges. We’re hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer with GitLab expertise to lead client delivery efforts across automation, infrastructure, cloud, and CI/CD initiatives. This is a hands-on, client-facing role ideal for someone who enjoys moving fast, solving complex problems, and mentoring engineers. You’ll work across industries, helping clients modernize infrastructure and deploy with speed and security.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Architecture roles
• 2+ years in a consulting, shared services, or advisory environment
• (Must have supported multiple teams or clients—not embedded in a single product team)
• Proven expertise in CI/CD: GitLab (preferred), GitHub Actions, or Jenkins
• IAC: Terraform or equivalent
• Containers: Kubernetes, Docker, or ECS
• Scripting: Python, Bash, PowerShell
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Exposure to monitoring, observability, incident & change management
• Strong communication and client collaboration skills
• Agile delivery experience
• Fluent in conversational English

Nice To Haves

• Kubernetes certifications (CKA or CKAD)
• Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Experience with config management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, etc.)
• Previous mentorship or internal tooling contributions
• Enthusiastic about internal knowledge sharing and helping grow engineering culture

Responsibilities

• GitLab SME with PSE certification, having experience with version upgrades and migrations.
• Architect and implement CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
• Build and manage infrastructure as code (Terraform)
• Lead containerization with Kubernetes, Docker, or ECS.
• Automate deployment and operations with scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
• Apply cloud security best practices across AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Guide clients through incident response and change management processes
• Mentor engineers and contribute to internal delivery frameworks
• Engage directly with clients to assess, advise, and execute solutions in agile environments
