Responsible for designing, building, automating and operating the platform that powers B2B site migration. Responsible for focusing on reliability, performance, automation, security, and repeatable low-risk deployment patterns (strangler pattern, canary/blue-green, feature flags).

Requirements

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline.
  • Generally 5-8 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Certification is required in some areas.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field, OR equivalent practical experience.
  • Master’s degree or advanced technical coursework is a plus.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability, or Platform Engineering supporting high-traffic web applications.
  • Strong experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including core services such as compute, networking, load balancers, CDN, and databases.
  • AWS experience preferred.
  • Experience with Azure Middleware and platform services (Azure App Service, Azure API Management, Azure Functions, Service Bus, Logic Apps).
  • Strong foundation in Linux administration, networking, and security (firewalls, VPC/VNet, IAM, TLS, secrets management).
  • Solid scripting and programming skills in Bash, Python, Node.js/TypeScript, or similar languages to automate tasks and build tooling.
  • Experience with performance tuning and capacity planning for web applications.
  • Cloud infrastructure design experience in Azure.
  • Has led a B2B ecommerce migration.
  • Container and Kubernetes experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and operate cloud infrastructure to host Next.js front-ends, API layers, and Optimizely integrations, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure as code (CloudFormation, ARM, Bicep, or equivalent) to provision and manage environments (dev, staging, pre-prod, prod).
  • Create and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, CircleCI, etc.) for frequent, safe deployments of page-level changes and backend services.
  • Implement deployment strategies that support page-by-page migration (strangler pattern), including rollback safety, canary/blue-green releases, and feature-flag-driven launches.
  • Containerize services and operate container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, EKS, AKS, GKE) and manage container registries.
  • Build observability into the platform through monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting tools (Prometheus/Grafana, Datadog, New Relic, ELK/OpenSearch, OpenTelemetry).
  • Harden platform and application security, manage secrets, and support compliance efforts (WAF, IAM, vulnerability scanning).
  • Automate repeatable runbooks and incident response processes; participate in on-call rotations and post-incident reviews.
  • Collaborate closely with product teams, frontend developers (Next.js/React), backend engineers, QA, and Optimizely specialists to enable page-level launches and maintain performance SLAs.
