The position involves generating quotation packages and final detail packages for complex rack systems, including selective rack, cantilever, dynamic systems, drive-in rack, and pick modules. The role requires a commitment to teamwork to increase Nucor Warehouse Systems Sales and Profits. Responsibilities include creating various types of system proposal drawings, approval drawings, permit drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation drawings as required from quotation to install. Candidates must understand how to interpret engineering calculations to help design systems, perform basic math to calculate system weights, and have an expert grasp of graphic standards. Collaboration and communication with outside customers and internal teams such as Sales, Engineering, Production, and Project Management are essential to support successful client projects. The role also involves developing and refining detailed 2D and 3D designs for warehouse storage systems, providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers and drafters, and reviewing project specifications and customer requirements to develop tailored solutions. Additionally, collaboration with suppliers and manufacturing teams is necessary to ensure material selection and fabrication align with design specifications. Participation in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design processes and product performance is expected, along with staying current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in warehouse racking and storage solutions. The candidate will also be a subject matter expert with D365 and will perform other duties as assigned.
