About The Position

thelab is looking for a Senior Designer - Social Media/Performance Marketing who can join our fast moving team. About thelab We are an agency of makers with deep expertise in solving creative, production, and technology challenges. Our focus is on making better work, to help brands work better. We partner directly with clients to think big, build from scratch, and design for reality. From branding & design to e-commerce builds or anything in between, thelab mixes inspiration and hard work to produce results that mean You are: Excited about design and art direction and all things visual, naturally! You have experience with social media, and cross channel advertising, you follow the latest and greatest in motion graphics, and delight in dynamic typography and color palettes. A well-designed ad makes your heart flutter, and your Instagram saved folder is full of great social executions. You’re a self-starter and team player who understands how to manage up. You are a wizard at Photoshop and you keep your files well organized, because it’s The Right Thing To Do. You might even be able to convince your Creative Director that product miniatures are the future of advertising. Or not. We’re looking for people with opinions here. Qualifications: We’re looking for a Senior Designer (5+ years relevant experience) to join our Madison Square Park office. The Sr. Designer will report to the Creative Director and work with a team of designers, copywriters, and producers on new and current projects. We’re looking for a range of creative and design capabilities.

Requirements

Having Paid Social Media experience is mandatory, creative testing/performance marketing experience is a big plus.
A love affair with design: We’re looking for someone who is just as obsessed as we are about beautiful typography, photography, and layout.
An understanding of motion design and narrative. We don’t necessarily need you to animate but we would like someone who can think through animation that enhances (almost) every piece of creative we produce.

Responsibilities

Partnering with copywriters, artists, designers, editors, etc to routinely create innovative and highly polished concepts and visual executions that fit within a brand look, tone, and feel.
Communicating concepts, visual designs, motion designs, and storyboards to our clients through detailed visual and verbal presentations.
Inspiring a team of creatives, juggling multiple projects simultaneously, and working closely with clients.
Conceptual thinking: All ideas welcome. We want you to dream it up and get it made. We’re talking about everything from social-focused campaigns to TV spots.
Grace after the 10th round: Some clients are easier than others. A big part of this job is being okay with client feedback and revisions.
