Senior Designer - Electrical

About The Position

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Building, Energy and Infrastructure (BEI) Group as a Senior Electrical Designer to provide technical and design services in support of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and telecommunication systems for design projects as part of a multi-discipline project team for institutional, commercial and industrial facilities.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 8+ years of experience in drafting and a Vocational certificate or two year degree in Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience using Autocad and/or Revit software is required.
  • More process than results-oriented individual with strong visual and technical skills.
  • Willing communicator and able to ask questions when necessary.
  • Enjoys working alone when required but can work effectively on a project team.
  • Able to complete work consistently with flexibility to accommodate varying project demands.
  • Must maintain a high level of precision and accuracy and be methodical in approach to work.
  • Enjoys working alone when required but can work effectively on a project team.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and perform field survey duties.
  • Must have a level of acceptance and persuasiveness required to effectively deal with other members of the project team.
  • Requires a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical and design services in support of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and telecommunication systems for design projects as part of a multi-discipline project team to produce electrical design/construction drawings and specifications for institutional, commercial and industrial facilities.
  • Will be responsible for completing design tasks within budget and on schedule and communicating with Project Manager, Sr. Electrical Engineer and design team to complete work efficiently.
