About The Position

Provide onsite 3D-PDS plant design support for complex nuclear and process systems. This role focuses on piping and equipment modeling, design development, and resolving construction and field design issues in a DOE nuclear environment.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a technical discipline with 10–12 years of experience OR 12–16 years of relevant practical experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Plant Designer in nuclear or process chemical environments
  • At least 5 years of experience supporting DOE facilities
  • Strong hands-on experience with PDS “Piping and Equipment” software
  • Working knowledge of applicable national codes and standards, including ASME B31.3 and NFPA 101
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Prior design experience supporting Savannah River Site projects
  • Previous DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two years
  • Formal training in CAD or 3D modeling systems

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 3D models using PDS “Piping and Equipment” software
  • Prepare, review, and approve design change packages and associated documentation
  • Resolve construction issues and design discrepancies in coordination with engineering and construction teams
  • Review vendor documents and incorporate requirements into 3D models
  • Disposition nonconformance reports and field problem memos
  • Support site layouts, piping layouts, HVAC systems, electrical commodities, and material handling designs
  • Perform field walkdowns to support design verification and issue resolution
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and design criteria
