About The Position
Provide onsite 3D-PDS plant design support for complex nuclear and process systems. This role focuses on piping and equipment modeling, design development, and resolving construction and field design issues in a DOE nuclear environment.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in a technical discipline with 10–12 years of experience OR 12–16 years of relevant practical experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Plant Designer in nuclear or process chemical environments
- At least 5 years of experience supporting DOE facilities
- Strong hands-on experience with PDS “Piping and Equipment” software
- Working knowledge of applicable national codes and standards, including ASME B31.3 and NFPA 101
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance
Nice To Haves
- Prior design experience supporting Savannah River Site projects
- Previous DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two years
- Formal training in CAD or 3D modeling systems
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 3D models using PDS “Piping and Equipment” software
- Prepare, review, and approve design change packages and associated documentation
- Resolve construction issues and design discrepancies in coordination with engineering and construction teams
- Review vendor documents and incorporate requirements into 3D models
- Disposition nonconformance reports and field problem memos
- Support site layouts, piping layouts, HVAC systems, electrical commodities, and material handling designs
- Perform field walkdowns to support design verification and issue resolution
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and design criteria
