The Role The Integrated Center Stack (ICS) and the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) are the main customer interfaces to our cutting-edge infotainment systems. Because they are styled electronic devices and prominently integrated in the IP, they give the ICS Lead high exposure to multiple disciplines in the organization. For some programs, the Senior Design Release (DRE) Engineer ICS Lead also manages the development and execution of the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Controls and possibly the Front Passenger Infotainment (FPI) display integration which is another application-specific Infotainment interface. As the Senior Design Release Engineer (DRE) ICS Lead, you’ll interact with interior, HVAC, electrical, materials and integration engineering teams. Outside of engineering, there’s interaction with program teams, marketing, manufacturing and significant time spent collaborating with suppliers, the design studio, purchasing and quality. In the end, the goal is to ensure all requirements and deliverables are met on time, with quality. What You’ll Do Create Statement of Requirements (SOR) in collaboration with purchasing, studio and engineering to develop requirements, allowable cost, etc. Work alongside the Display team (instrument cluster, infotainment) Manage and update component-specific technical specification(s) Track and manage imperatives (cost, investment, mass, etc.) to meet program targets Provide leadership, coaching, and technical direction to supplier resident engineer(s) and/or other DREs Lead product development team (PDT) meetings and provided technical direction to PDT members Act as engineering lead in studio activities for surface development Work with supplier to develop needed execution criteria (Design execution sections, surface, die vectors, regulatory compliance, etc.) to support surface development Work with User Experience, Interior and/or Appearance Studios and Materials Engineering to identify solutions for achieving finish, color, gloss, etc. of materials Effectively communicate direction, status, issues and resolutions to PDT members, as well as all levels of leadership within the department, program team, purchasing and studio Support development builds and launch activities with troubleshooting, retrofits, etc. to ensure a flawless launch Manage all component validation activities and close all issues by required milestones
