About The Position

Seeking a Senior Design Integrator/Senior Installation Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment to join a global provider of rail solutions in Oakland, CA.

Requirements

  • From 5 up to 10 years' experience of Electrical Works in the Railway Engineering context especially developed in the area of construction and installation Design.
  • Survey field locations and gather information for the existing infrastructure to complete the installation design when necessary.
  • Identify, understand and overcome installation challenges during design development.
  • Size pathways and raceway, considering existing conditions and filling.
  • Familiarity with Requirement Traceability Matrix and the Interface Registers tools.
  • Design management of contractors and sub-contractor activities: contract requirements and design processes-control.
  • Previous experience in construction is a plus.
  • Demonstrate critical attention to detail and deadlines and are self-motivated.
  • Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priorities in a project and deadline-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office (Word/Excel).
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit or 3D software.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the CBTC project is compliant with the contract, the system requirements and the local electrical regulations.
  • Design and instruct subcontractor designer to route cables within the technical rooms and along the track system, managing filling ratio, existing pathways challenging, proposing new pathways etc.
  • Manage and seek resolution of the technical Interfaces between the engineering installation works and technological Systems/subsystems.
  • Ensure the application of quality procedures for the emissions of the documents at every stage of the design.
  • Identify the critical issues in the development of the project and propose mitigation actions.
  • Represent the Installation engineering team and support the design choices with the client.
  • Seal documents and drawings prepared by, or under the direct supervision as part of professional engineering services rendered to the public.
  • Proficiently use of Bluebeam and CAD software for interfaces definition and management, as part of the project delivery strategy according to the Engineering Management Plan.
