Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or Industrial Design.
• 5-8+ years of proven experience in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience working on electromechanical products within a product development environment.
• Experience designing for plastic parts including silicone, rubber, and injection molding.
• Experience working with IP teams to track prior art and identify novel solutions.
• Proficient in SolidWorks or Creo.
• Ability to identify, solve, implement, and verify technical solutions autonomously.
• Ability to operate in the lab, build prototypes, and conduct product testing.
• Demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and perseverance with a positive attitude.
• Appreciation for electrical engineering, software, and mechanical principles.
• Proactively enhance own education and seek coaching from others.
• Exercise judgment in identifying problems to solve and making daily progress.
• Continuously evaluate design intent to achieve outstanding results.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the consumer goods household appliance space.
• Experience designing for sheet metal products.

Responsibilities

• Work in the front-end product/engineering development phase using ideation/innovation techniques to drive the Motorized product roadmap.
• Take ownership of the roadmap focusing on front-end technology and feasibility for next generation products.
• Drive ideas to conclusion early on via functional rigs before handing over to the back-end implementation team.
• Tinker on both short- and long-term projects with a hands-on approach in the form of Proof of Concept rigs.
• Communicate ideas quickly and effectively using sketching, CAD layouts, 3D models, and working prototypes.
• Carry out design/engineering studies to solve technical or consumer issues with a focus on user experience.
• Collaborate with global teams to ensure consumer-focused experience drives product development.
• Coach and support team members, particularly junior colleagues.
• Balance, prioritize, and drive multiple workflows across projects while conforming to fast-paced schedules.
