About The Position

As a Senior Design Engineer you will be responsible for the design and project management of standard and one-off tooling projects, encompassing activities from initial contact with the Client through concept, design, manufacture, build, test to completion of the associated documentation. Offshore trips may be required.

Responsibilities

• Design and project management of standard and one-off tooling projects, encompassing activities from initial contact with the Client through concept, design, manufacture, build, test to completion of the associated documentation.
• Preparation of innovative designs backed with engineering calculations and analysis.
• Preparation of manufacturing drawings.
• Lead discussions and reviews with the client and suppliers.
• Liaison with suppliers and the client to ensure requirements are achieved and issues are resolved.
• Review and checking of drawings and calculations.
• Taking ownership of projects and seeing them through to completion, including: concept development, purchasing of parts, overseeing and coordinating build and test of equipment, compiling product documentation and operational procedures, ensuring within budget and on-time delivery of product.
• Ongoing support of standard tooling products and equipment as required (may require offshore trips).
• Providing guidance & mentoring to less experienced members of the team.
• Preparation of quotations and proposals for tooling projects.
