Senior Design Engineer

In this role, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to design solutions that make complex technologies simple and delightful. The Senior Design Engineer will help drive the overall design and user experience of our products by partnering with engineers and product managers. You will be a foundational member of the UX team, helping to guide the UX team on vision, build processes, and drive strategy. The role will also partner with key strategic stakeholders of the company, including Product and Engineering leaders to bring them along and solicit feedback as thought partners for affecting company-wide product directions.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in UX design, ideally designing for complex, technical SAAS products such as developer tools
- An intermediate level of front-end development knowledge. This is for building prototypes and contributing code for fit and finish
- Experience using Figma or AI design tools
- Experience doing quantitative and qualitative user research
- Experience collaborating closely with marketing, engineering, and product teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working in fast-paced distributed teams
Responsibilities
- Gather product requirements and lead the design process from ideation to polished user experiences
- Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, and product managers to create high-quality prototypes and contribute code to raise product fit and finish
- Evolve the internal design system, ensuring a high level of craft and consistency
- Do quantitative and qualitative user research to inform product and design decisions
- Mentor and support cross-functional stakeholders to foster product quality
- Work on products that are used by thousands of customers and users on a daily basis
