About The Position

What You'll Do Mature structural designs throughout the detailed design phase and release part and assembly drawings in Otto PLM systems. Manage multiple parts and/or assemblies within a given aircraft zone. Collaborate with key stakeholders within the Otto Structures, Systems, and Manufacturing teams. Individually prioritize design tasks and delegate to junior engineers. Coordinate with cross functional teams to define and validate structural interfaces with adjacent systems and structures. Support prototype vehicle development while understanding the variations in respective design and manufacturing methodologies from production designs. Assist in the development and implementation of PLM tools by providing technical feedback to the Otto Engineering team. Provide technical oversight and mentorship of junior engineers. Who You Are Education B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent Experience 5+ years of relevant industry experience (or 2+ with M.S.) Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience in fixed wing aircraft, structural design, and systems integration Experience of composite and metallic materials and manufacturing processes. Experience in aircraft level development programs Strong Knowledge of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Proficiency with CATIA V5/V6/3DX and ENOVIA V5/V6/3DX Knowledge of typical airframe structural design criteria Knowledge of FAR Part 23 certification requirements and processes Required Skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Active Listening: Practice to gain insight and truly understand all project stakeholders. Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience (or 2+ with M.S.)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
