About The Position

M&J Engineering, P.C. is seeking a Senior Design Engineer for building rehabilitation and new construction projects at our Farmingdale, Long Island, NY office. M&J Engineering, D.P.C. is a quality provider of multi-disciplined consulting services with over 300 employees. Since its inception in 2004, M&J has grown into diversified provider of engineering, construction management, construction inspection, technology, and environmental services to a broad range of clients, including federal, state and city/local agencies, private owners, architects, engineers and contractors. We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Design Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be involved in all phases of building design and construction, from conceptual development through construction administration, and will work closely with clients, consultants, and internal team members to deliver high-quality architectural solutions. The ideal candidate must have strong quantitative skillsets to support municipal projects in the northeast, primarily in Metro NY area and Long Island. You will support, drive, and manage the development of projects, interact, and work directly with clients, and develop your technical and project management capabilities. Manage tasks/projects and clients’ expectations for the planning, design and construction of various buildings, including historical, aging and new construction. As well as creating construction documents, specifications, and handling construction oversight/administration. Develop preliminary engineering plans and final design drawings, and construction documents Collaborate with project teams, consultants, and contractors Prepare presentations, renderings, and design proposals Ensure projects comply with zoning, building codes, and regulations Participate in client meetings and site visits Manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently Support construction administration, including RFIs and submittals You may apply directly on this site or email resumes to [email protected] .

Requirements

• 5-15+ years experience in municipal and private design and construction.
• Professional Engineer or Architecture License is a requirement
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in architectural practice
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam
• Strong design sensibility and technical knowledge
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

• Waterfront improvement experience is a plus.
