We put our customers first - exemplified by our mission: “We Protect Those Who Protect Us®.” BAE Systems is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Checking Specialist for our Countermeasure & Electromagnetic Attack Solutions (CEMA) business area. CEMA is focused on next-generation threat detection, countermeasure, and attack solutions to provide customers with full-spectrum electronic warfare capabilities to enhance mission survivability. The checking position we are seeking to fill will be assigned to work in the Nashua, New Hampshire area full-time on-site. Basic Job Function: Ensure engineering product definition (drawings, associated design models, Bills of material, etc.) meets all contract and company requirements before releasing to production control. Provide support on our countermeasures-based products and other challenging technologies. You will be part of a Design & Drafting Community working with the latest CAD Technology and Processes who are always forward planning with Industry professionals to define future of CAD and product definition capabilities as well as its support of Digital Engineering via 3D Model Based Definition. You also will advance your technical skills while performing your assigned responsibilities on development projects and supporting our existing product portfolio.

Requirements

  • An Associate's Degree or higher, and 12+ years' Design Drafting experience with 2+ years dedicated to Checking function; or 15 years' Design Drafting experience with 3+ years' dedicated to Checking function.
  • Active DoD Security Clearance.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding Engineering Drawings and Bills of Material.
  • Experienced with dimensioning and tolerancing IAW ASME Y14.5.
  • Familiar with a formal Product Lifecycle Data Management System (PLMS).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CREO Parametric (Pro/Engineer).
  • Experience with Dassault Systems 3D Experience PLM.
  • Experience with electro/mechanical packaging.
  • Expert with Y14.5 GD&T, ASME Y14.5-1994 or later.
  • Proficient in researching and understanding Military and Commercial Specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure engineering product definition meets all contract and company requirements before releasing to production control.
  • Provide support on countermeasures-based products and other challenging technologies.
  • Review engineering data in CREO Parametric (Pro/E).
  • Read and understand Engineering Drawings and Bills of Material.
  • Perform dimensioning and tolerancing IAW ASME Y14.5.
  • Evaluate tolerance analysis.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations on drawing and design improvements.
  • Collaborate with Drafters, Designers, Engineers, Manufacturers, and Suppliers.
  • Work on SAP/SAR or similar closed programs on-site in secure areas.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and written.
