This position is designed for a seasoned analyst who is equally comfortable writing complex code and developing analytic frameworks as they are coordinating multi-agency data sharing processes and contributing to data strategy. They will develop and lead a population-health analytics program that complements and enhances the existing public-health surveillance program, using healthcare encounter data as well as existing local and state data resources to generate actionable insights that inform public-health policy and program decisions. The position also plays a central role in formalizing data governance and partnering to advance data sharing and the use of modern data tools to support the consistent and efficient use of data resources. The Senior Department Analyst collaborates closely with epidemiologists, IT staff, Public Health leadership, the HHS Compliance unit, and state, federal, and community partners to support data access, quality, and use. The position identifies and addresses strategic data opportunities; supervises junior staff; oversees data workflows in collaboration with technical teams; manages grants, contracts, and agreements; and ensures that data processes align with governance, compliance, and privacy standards. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced analyst who wants to use their technical analytic depth and experience managing systems or data programs to strengthen data-driven public-health practice in Marin County.
