The Senior Delivery Program Manager at Steampunk is responsible for leading agile teams in delivering high-quality solutions for federal clients. This role involves coaching teams on agile methodologies, ensuring continuous delivery, and managing project risks while fostering a collaborative environment. The position requires a blend of leadership, technical understanding, and the ability to innovate within the delivery process.

  • Ensures team(s) maintains focus on quality and continuous delivery
  • Provides visibility into delivery targets, commitments, and progress
  • Understands and coaches the team on delivery controls and compliance to minimize operational and reputational risk
  • Identifies upstream and downstream dependencies to support risk management
  • Proactively identifies impediments and resolves them using a network of peers and formal channels
  • Integrates Agile and Lean principles into team practices and work products
  • Coaches Product Owner and team on backlog refinement and prioritization
  • Improves collaboration and self-organization within the team
  • Utilizes team feedback and metrics to identify areas of opportunity for continuous improvement
  • Assesses the current organization and delivery environment to recommend optimal Agile practices
  • Innovates with practices and frameworks through experimentation to improve team delivery
  • Encourages team engineering innovation and improvement
  • Prepares and delivers effective communications regarding progress and status for both internal and client teams
  • 8+ years managing IT projects using agile methodologies
  • 5+ years experience with Scrum/Kanban methodologies
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, MIS or equivalent
  • CSM and PMP certification or equivalent desired
  • Scaled Agile Framework Certification and Practical Experience desired
  • Ability to establish immediate credibility with clients and build consensus
  • Ability to help teams write user stories/epics and identify dependencies
  • Flexibility to work with diverse teams and individuals
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working in a studio/human-centered design approach
  • Experience with DevOps practices
  • Familiarity with XP engineering practices
