About The Position

As a DCS Technical Support Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in delivering high-value technical support and remote services to our premium customers within Honeywell Process Solutions (HPS). You will leverage deep technical expertise across Honeywell process control systems to proactively monitor customer environments, identify and resolve issues, and help prevent future incidents through predictive and preventive services. You will report directly to the Manager and work out of our Houston, TX location on a hybrid work schedule. Occasional travel to customer sites may be required in support of premium service engagements. In this role, you will impact customer success, operational reliability, and long-term system performance by supporting Honeywell’s Assurance 360 (A360) services and collaborating with regional and global stakeholders to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes.

Requirements

  • US PERSON REQUIREMENT Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S.
  • YOU MUST HAVE Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronics, Instrumentation, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field).
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in system engineering, operations, or services support within the industrial automation industry.
  • Hands-on experience supporting process control systems in customer-facing or service environments.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently in a remote support model.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience supporting Honeywell process control systems, including: Experion PKS controller families and system architecture.
  • Experion PKS client/server products.
  • TPS / TPN systems.
  • C200 and/or C300 controllers.
  • Working knowledge of: Experion migrations
  • Fault Tolerant Ethernet (FTE).
  • TCP/IP networking and device configuration.
  • OPC.
  • ELCN/EUCN/EHPM systems
  • Domain Controller/Active Directory
  • VMware environments
  • Dell Hardware Configurations and troubleshooting
  • Customer-facing experience supporting mission-critical industrial systems.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with demonstrated leadership impact.
  • Experience with Salesforce, SharePoint, or similar service management tools.
  • Knowledge management or call center support experience.
  • Working knowledge of programming or scripting languages (e.g., Excel VBA, Python).
  • Ability to take initiative, manage priorities effectively, and drive results in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of scripting or programming languages such as Excel VBA/macros, Python, C#, or HTML, and experience working with SQL databases.
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas domain

Responsibilities

  • Provide remote technical support and services to premium HPS customers using Honeywell remote monitoring tools.
  • Monitor customer systems as part of A360 contracts, including predictive analysis, enabled services, and system audits.
  • Execute GTAC and standard audit checklists to assess system health and performance.
  • Proactively identify technical issues within the installed base and collaborate with global teams to resolve them.
  • Analyze reactive incidents to determine root cause and recommend actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive case documentation, ensuring timely follow-up with A360 Performance Managers.
  • Support the enablement of remote solutions at customer sites and clearly demonstrate the value of Honeywell services with each deliverable.
  • Communicate findings, risks, and recommendations effectively to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Stay current across the HPS product and systems portfolio, while maintaining deep expertise in TPS and Experion DCS platforms.
