About The Position

MTSI is seeking a Senior level Datalink Engineer who can join our Army Aviation integration team at the customer site Redstone Arsenal (RSA). Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in an applicable field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of applicable experience.
  • Experience with military tactical data links relative to C4ISR operations.
  • Good understanding of basic computer networking.
  • Strong work ethic and comfortable working in a team environment with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical experience with MANET and Point-to-Point datalinks.
  • Technical experience in areas related to tactical data link radios.
  • Experience with Army Aviation Command and Control processes.
  • Experience with tactical data links mission threads.
  • Knowledge of data analysis methods and tools.
  • Ability to evaluate tactical communications emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Interface directly with customers and other DOD components as well as product development contractors.
  • Conduct technical review of customer requirements.
  • Evaluate all aspects of performance, including range, data throughput, data optimization, aerial relay effectiveness, MIL-STD conformance, and messaging conformance.
  • Deliver a comprehensive evaluation of datalink performance and recommendations for successful integration of future datalink networks.
  • Develop in-depth understanding and working knowledge of current and emerging tactical data link systems, implementation, and operation.
  • Develop understanding of applicable Military Standards such as MIL-STDs 3011, 6016, 6020 and emerging tactical message formats and protocols.
  • Author technical documents and briefings and conduct formal presentations.
  • Travel to other locations as required to attend meetings and conduct test events.
