About The Position

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Database Administrator to oversee database operations at Telrite Holdings and its subsidiaries in the telecommunications sector. The candidate will be a key member of the IT Systems team, reporting to the Director of Technology, with the primary focus on deploying, and supporting critical database infrastructure across the enterprise. This role is well-suited for a strong SQL Server and PostgreSQL practitioner who also brings hands-on Informix experience who can ultimately step up into a leadership capacity – guiding junior team members, driving architectural improvements, and owning critical database initiatives from start to finish.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years as a Database Administrator in an enterprise environment.
Strong hands-on expertise in MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL, including design, integration, replication, tuning, and troubleshooting.
Strong proficiency with SQL and PL/SQL.
Working knowledge of Informix — experience administering or supporting Informix databases in a production environment.
Proven ability to lead projects independently and provide technical guidance to junior team members Proactive in nature and ability to lead projects from start to finish.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

Good Linux, and shell scripting experience.
Experience with MySQL
Familiarity with BI reporting tools

Responsibilities

Architect, deploy, and support highly available database solutions across MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments.
Administer all databases across development-to-production lifecycle.
Develop stored procedures, functions, and PL/SQL scripts.
Optimize databases and applications for performance, reliability, and security.
Define and enforce database standards and best practices across the organization.
Maintain data backup, recovery, and business continuity procedures.
Coordinate and support application testing during database maintenance and upgrades.
Collaborate with developers and testers during release cycles.
Identify and resolve performance issues including long-running queries, missing indexes, and schema inefficiencies.
Assist in managing and supporting legacy Informix database environments.
Forecast storage requirements and perform ongoing capacity planning.
Monitor and troubleshoot database issues across Linux and Windows platforms.
Provide on-call support as needed.
