About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator to ensure the performance, integrity, and security of critical database systems that support mission-critical applications. In this role, you will design, deploy, and maintain both relational and NoSQL databases, optimizing performance and supporting seamless operations. You will work closely with engineers, DevOps, and other DBAs to ensure scalable, reliable, and secure environments. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in MySQL and cloud database platforms, comfortable automating routine tasks, and adept at troubleshooting complex database issues. This role offers the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment, with exposure to cutting-edge technologies and a collaborative, fast-paced team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on MySQL DBA experience on Linux/VM, AWS, and/or OCI cloud platforms.
• Strong expertise in MySQL architecture, database design, installation, backup/recovery, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Experience automating database tasks using scripting languages and tools such as Shell, SQL, Ansible, Chef, or Git.
• Knowledge of database monitoring and performance tuning tools.
• Ability to ensure data integrity, availability, and security across all database systems.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain MySQL database servers and support critical replicated environments.
• Monitor, tune, and troubleshoot database performance and operational issues.
• Participate in database design, deployment, upgrades, patching, and maintenance across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Support DevOps and engineering teams with database-related tasks and issue resolution.
• Enforce database standards, architectural governance, and best practices.
• Support NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and DynamoDB, including monitoring and optimization.
• Participate in on-call rotations and deployment schedules to ensure high availability and system reliability.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance database reliability, efficiency, and security.
