Join our dynamic team at Caterpillar as a Lead Data Specialist, where you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining and optimizing managed account data within the Customer Master system to support our strategic business growth. The Lead Data Specialist for Managed Account Data is responsible for overseeing the quality and completeness of managed account information within Customer Master. This role will guide initiatives to ensure that Caterpillar’s managed accounts are accurately represented in Helios, gather the voice of the business with respect to data needs, and work closely with Data Product Owners to deliver on those needs.

Requirements

Modeling: Data, Process, Events, Objects: Working knowledge of data, process and events; ability to use tools and techniques for analyzing and documenting logical relationships among data, processes or events.
Communicating Complex Concepts: Working knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience.
Information Management: Extensive knowledge of an organization's existing and planned Information Architecture and Information Management (IM) methodology; ability to collect and manage information from different sources, and distribute this information to enhance operational efficiency.
Agile Development: Working knowledge of agile methodologies and the agile development lifecycle; ability to utilize formal agile methodologies, disciplines, practices and techniques for the delivery of new and enhanced applications.
Extensive experience in data management (typically 5-7+ years)
Typically a college or university degree or 9 to 12 years of experience

Previous experience with Snowflake and Microsoft Excel
Existing knowledge of Managed Accounts and processes
Experience in managing data & data governance
Strong organization and analytical skills
Ability to work and communicate effectively in a complex, rapidly changing, and culturally diverse environment.
Strong process management skills to understand incoming data feeds and requests while also understanding the use/impact in user applications

Responsibilities

Lead the stewardship and management of managed account data in Customer Master, ensuring Dealer and Caterpillar Managed Accounts data is accurate, aligned, and visible through dashboards
Oversee customer data change requests from managed account teams, collaborating with technical teams for bulk requests, ensuring requirements fulfilled efficiently.
Champion and uphold data quality and governance standards.
Collaborate with Industry Managed Account teams to develop business requirements for additional Data Product features that support managed account data and processes
Partner with the analytics team to proactively identify data issues and corrective actions
Effectively communicate with business partners and dealers on data and process improvements
